LA WILDFIRES RESOURCES
In wake of the Los Angeles fires, we wanted to highlight some resources available to survivors, evacuees and first responders. Our hearts go out to all those affected as Los Angeles is our home today, and we could not be more heartbroken. Many of our loved ones have been displaced and lost everything.
Both the Palisades/Malibu and the Greater Altadena area, including Angeles Crest National Forest, have been sanctuaries, and pieces of inspiration for us and our brand.

NEW ROUTINES
We don't want you to stop there. Instead, we want to use this moment to encourage each of you to consider taking small steps to reduce your environmental impact in daily life. While it’s true that larger entities have the capacity to make greater individual changes, and transformation won’t happen overnight, there’s undeniable power in collective action. The sooner we embrace a sustainability-focused or eco-conscious mindset in our routines, the closer we come to adopting an intentional way of living that positively shapes our own corners of the world. And being sustainability-focused or eco-conscious is being conscious of shared living - that no one owns the earth. It is ours, collectively. And our collective responsibility to take care of it. That’s how real change begins.
Some of these might be par for the course for some of you. For others, there is no better day to start than today.
1. Reduce Waste
• Bring Reusable Bags: Skip plastic bags by using reusable tote bags. A little planning can go a long way.
• Ditch Disposable Products: Use reusable water bottles, coffee cups, and food containers. Let's try to minimize ordering takeout. That's not any good for you anyways.
• Compost Food Scraps: Turn organic waste into nutrient-rich compost instead of sending it to a landfill.
2. Conserve Energy and Water
• Unplug Electronics: Turn off and unplug devices that are not in regular use to save phantom energy.
• Switch to LED Bulbs: LEDs use less energy and last longer than traditional bulbs.
• Adjust Thermostat: Lower the heat or air conditioning when you’re away.
• Turn Off Taps: Don’t let the water run while brushing your teeth or washing dishes.
• Fix Leaks: Repair dripping faucets or pipes to prevent water waste.
• Install Water-Saving Fixtures: Use low-flow showerheads or dual-flush toilets.
3. Choose Sustainable Products
• Buy Local: Support local farmers and reduce the carbon footprint of your food.
• Opt for Eco-Friendly Brands: Look for products with sustainable packaging or fair trade labels. Look for products that incorporate elements of eco-friendly, and human friendly, principles. They don't need to be perfect - no one is. They just need to try to get better each day and make a long-term commitment.
• Shop Secondhand: Thrift for clothing, furniture, and more to reduce demand for new production. Trust us - thrifting when you travel, in particular, is life changing. And fashion changing. Do it.
4. Change Transportation Habits
• Carpool or Use Public Transport: Share rides or take buses/trains to reduce emissions.
• Walk or Bike: For short distances, opt for non-motorized transportation.
5. Education and Lobbying
Be a conscious voter, particularly in local elections. Mayoral candidates and other local politicians have a strong say in how local communities are run. Be vigilant, do your research and go out and vote.
Let's all do our small part.
